🌎 European Commission Adopts Horizon Europe Work Programme for 2026–2027

The European Commission has officially presented the new Horizon Europe Work Programme for 2026–2027, unlocking €14 billion in funding for research and innovation, with important changes for applicants.

🌻 Key Priorities of the Programme:

  • Climate neutrality and green transition
  • Artificial intelligence and digital solutions
  • Clean technologies
  • Talent support and attraction
  • Regional innovation and inclusive development

🌻 What’s New and Important for Applicants:
🔹 A significant portion of calls will be funded via lump sum — simpler administration and reduced reporting
🔹 Call topics are more oriented towards newcomers and SMEs to lower entry barriers
🔹 41 calls will use a two-stage evaluation procedure:
• First: short proposal
• Full application — only after positive evaluation of the short one (Many short proposals will be evaluated blindly/anonymised to reduce bias)

🚀 This opens new opportunities for universities, researchers, innovative teams, and businesses planning to join European projects.
